Traffic Jam on I 95 S

Standstill for 3+hrs have traveled 26 miles in past 8hrs. VDOT 511 site useless. Internet is useless with no current updates. Local radio stations useless. Until youve been stuck like this then you have no idea just how helpless you are in this situation. What in the hell is going on and when the hell will you actually do something about this disaster > reply

USer Comment Vcook: I was stuck on Rt 1 south near quantico for 5+hours after already being on 95 since 4pm today. A pedestrian on side of road informed me they shut down rt 1 due to power lines down that was around midnight. All traffic gridlocked. Everyone trying to get back onto 95s. Vdot shut down exits us-1 and exit 143 to 140. Joplin road is closed. Tons of lane blockages accidents trees down . Plan on site days vdot is to reassess and try to reopen by 7am. Total BS. After 10.5 hours on road I Was able to make a u-turn and ride back north for somewhere to sleep. I pray your families get home safely. Not sure if this helped any but wanted to give any information that I knew. 3 years ago > REPLY
