  @mbruning81 @LovecleFrank @Emperor1G @CLE89SC Yep! 12 plows within a 30 minute span were on I-71 and I-480, but throughout the night and morning we had 70 total out. But that's just District 12. Regionally, Northeast Ohio had many many more out clearing roadways in Districts 3 and 4 as well.

  @Meggion You'd be surprised to see how many people actually equate the two. We get a ton of comments every winter of people claiming that no plows were out because they didn't see any. Seeing a plow has nothing to do with the road conditions, and people try to make that claim frequently.

  @Meggion We're responding to the idea that people think because they didn't see a plow means that none were out. It's important to educate people that just because you don't see a plow or pass a plow that doesn't mean our drivers aren't out working hard.

  @mrelznew You are absolutely right; it can be extremely frustrating to drive through snow/ice conditions. Where we try to educate people is when we get comments about plows not being out or not doing enough. We work to let people know that our drivers work incredibly hard and do their best

  @bdh_in_clv @Michell55123207 We use a product called BeetHeet, which acts in a similar manner, and is much more economical. We also pre-treat when possible, but sometimes we aren’t able to effectively if roads are wet or rain is forecasted to come before snow as it can wash away the brine.

  @UhhhHamSammich Just plain road salt is only effective at certain temperatures. That's why we use things like Brine and BeetHeet to better work through it. Salt also works best when the sun is out, and traffic is heavier to break up the salt.

  @UhhhHamSammich We had nearly 70 plows out overnight. It wasn’t a lack of preparation or deployment. We were using salt, brine, and other de-icing materials to try to tackle what we were experiencing. When there’s incredibly low temps and wind making it colder, there is only so much we can do.

  @MatthewRini Don't believe there is much we plow in North Ridgeville. That would be the responsibility of the city. Within city limits, we only plow Interstates. I-80 belongs to the Turnpike. We're certain the city plow drivers were doing their best.

  @EnjoyingShows We work to get ice off roads, but it isn’t instant. It’s not that they are completely ineffective, it’s that they are much less effective in certain conditions. We inform drivers to leave early & drive per conditions. Check OHGO before you go for live traffic info and cameras.

  @EnjoyingShows Honestly, we do what we can. We are almost always out before snow falls. Plowing ice off roads is not an easy task. We use multiple de-icing materials to try to work through it. But when it’s extremely cold, dark and not much traffic is out, our materials don’t work as well.
